Patient Overview Tab
The Overview tab can be explained as an individual patient’s home page which provides access into several different areas of patient’s information. The patient information includes the patient’s SafeNSound collected data, vitals (which can be zoomed in to view beat by beat), location indicators, saved events, and saved alarms as well as Patient Cards located along the top of the screen.
Patient’s Main screen
On the Dashboard, click or select a patient in the My Patient section to view multiple tabs within the patient’s chart.
This view shows a broad overview of patient’s heart rates every hour, pending alarms, and saved events across the main screen, the '+' in the right hand corner provides a link to Quick Links options. Under Quick Links, the user can quickly create a note, update Vitals or MEWS, make a change in the patient’s location, or to access a report like the Infant Car Seat Challenge.
- Heart Rate Trend and Vitals are integrated with EMR, the lowest and highest heart rates are shown for each hour.
- Pending alarms are shown as a bell icon at the time they occured on the patients timeline.
- Saved Events are shown as a file icon above the patient's heart rate trend.
- The dashed line at the bottom of the chart indicates the patient's location, with its color varying depending on where the patient is located.
- Beneath the timeline, users can add notes or rhythm interpretations while creating a saved event.
Patient Cards
The Patient Cards within each patient’s SafeNSound record provide a standardized view into basic patient information. These Patient cards display active patient information to select from, such as Latest Vitals, Saved Events, Current Location, and the MEWS assessment. The patient cards seen below are:
- Latest Vitals - the most recent vital signs are represented in this card.
- Saved Events - include strips or events saved by the MT that are awaiting RN approval,
- Current Location - Locations noted would include the current and temporary locations like Radiology or Bathroom, as well as any RTLS Locations, like Stanley Tracking. Location icons are also noted in the lower right-hand corner of the screen, which provides a timeline that monitor technicians can scroll through to see the amount of time the patient has been away from their room or bed.
- Alarm Review - This card can be customized for each customer account. For example: The organization may determine that all Asystole and Vfib alarms require review by their staff. All the alarms related to Asystole and Vfib would then collect under the Alarm Review tab, for each patient.
- Rothman Index Score - The Rothman Index (RI) Score gives clinicians the ability to combine their expert clinical judgement with objective data science to drive actionable insights into overall patient condition. It's designed to assist clinicians in early detection and intervention od deterationg patients.
- 24hr Heart Rate provides the highest and lowest Heart Rates within the last 24 hours.
- Code Status is obtained from the patient’s EMR. The code status must match the options available in SafeNSound in order to be automatically pulled and displayed.
- Monitor Time provides the length of time the patient has been monitored in SafeNSound.
- Monitoring Order provides the patient’s monitoring order from the EMR.
